Project Description

LENAX provided cost estimating support for the Judicial Council of California's statewide courthouse renovation and expansion program. The plan included eight new facilities with space for 21 new judgeships (each requiring a courtroom) in Humboldt, Kern, Sacramento, and Shasta counties. The facilities totaled some 157,000 sf, and the estimated total construction value was $55.4 million for the entire program. Our staff performed quantity take-offs, pricing research, and applied appropriate contractor mark-ups, escalation, and contingencies in order to prepare estimate reports to convey the fair market value of the construction costs in four California counties with wide variations in labor and material costs.
