Project Description
Project Scope
The Metro Crenshaw/LAX Line extends Metro's existing Exposition Line 8.5 miles to the Metro Green Line's Aviation/LAX Station, serving the cities of Los Angeles, Inglewood, Hawthorne, El Segundo, and portions of unincorporated Los Angeles County. This alternative transportation option will relieve roadway congestion, and provide significant environmental benefits, economic development and employment opportunities throughout Los Angeles County. Riders will be able to make easy connections within the entire Metro Rail system, municipal bus lines and other regional transportation services.
Project Highlights
- 8.5 Miles of alignment, including bored tunnel, cut & cover, retained fill, aerial structure, exclusive at-grade, and grade crossings.
- Eight new stations featuring public art and convenient access for disabled patrons
- New park/ride lots at Crenshaw/Exposition, Florence/West and Florence/La Brea
- A new maintenance facility at Arbor Vitae/Bellanca, near LAX
